Fri, November 24, 2006 - 5:43 PMThey are really cute.
HI, I'm Jennifer and I'm the ringleader here. I held an event called Gypsylicious eons ago, or so it seems. It was really only a year ago this past October. I teach Fusion style belly dance in Victorville. I have two classes, one for beginners and one for my intermediate girls. I am also the director of the troupe Burning Incense. We kind of took it easy this year, but we're hoping to rev up this year with more performances and hopefully some new venues. Ummmm what else...I have a two-year-old son that keeps me busy. A lot of the time I took off this year from dancing was due to him. He's so much fun and I really didn't want to miss out on anything. I kinda feel like the Belly Dance community will always be present, but my son will only be a little guy once. -

Re: Welcome to Gypsylicious
Fri, February 16, 2007 - 4:48 AMHeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy,
Found you Fearless, didn't know there was this tribe hiding out there!!!! :)~
So............here I am. I'm Alina from South Florida, I just opened "Lotus Dance Studio" in Pembroke Pines and we are predominantly Tribal, although will throw in a good dose of Cabaret often!. I'm also the President of our MECDA Chapter here and we are seriously thinking to have a CAIRO CARNIVAL EAST here, (it's presently just a dream).
Wouldn't it be cool to have Marjhani and Burning Insence here as performers, I can already see you and even more of you down here, aaaaahhhhhh to dream!!! but hey, that's how I make things happen!
I started dancing back in the late seventies in Glendale California, left Shakey town for Hurricane town, raised a family and here I am! bellydancing around town, causing a rockus everywhere I go! can't help it, I'm just in love with all things bellydance. -

Re: Welcome to Gypsylicious
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 9:27 PMAlina I love the rockus you cause!!! I would love to perform at you Cairo Carnivale East. Well, that’s how things start don’t they. A little dream can become a reality with hard work and imagination. You’re only limited by your ambition… and need for sleep.
That’s how my lil’ show started. It was just a “dream” or vision as I like to think of it and it cam to fruition. I would like to host another event someday. Maybe 2008 will be the year. I learned so much, but it also kind of burned me out at the same time so I’m a little gun shy. It takes so much mental and physical energy to produce one of these things. You really need a kick ass support team with you.
Remember, if ya really want to see me super bad I’m available to teach workshops. I’ll even throw Marjhani in my suitcase. Hey, I’m just planting seeds here… ;)
